The Victron Orion-Tr 12/12-9 converter offers reliable DC voltage conversion with 200 V galvanic isolation between input, output and chassis. Input voltage in the range of 8–17 V is converted to stabilized output voltage of 12.2 V with adjustment capability in the range of 10–15 V. Continuous output current of 9 A at 25 °C ensures sufficient power for supplying sensitive electronics.
The converter features buck-boost functionality, which maintains stable output voltage across the entire input voltage range. Remote on/off eliminates the need for a high-current switch in the input line. Short circuit protection, ability to parallel connect unlimited number of units and thermal protection with automatic power reduction ensure safe and reliable operation.
Protection features and reliability
The converter is equipped with a comprehensive protection system including under-voltage protection (shutdown at 7 V, restart at 7.5 V), short circuit and overheating protection. When temperature exceeds 40 °C, automatic power reduction of 3 % per degree Celsius occurs, ensuring safe operation even in demanding conditions.
Easy installation and use
Compact dimensions of 113 × 100 × 47 mm and weight of 0.42 kg allow installation even in limited space. Screw terminals for cables up to 6 mm2 (AWG10) cross-section do not require special tools. Non-replaceable input fuse protects the converter when used with 12V and 24V input.
Certification and standards
The product complies with EN 60950 for safety, EN 61000-6-3 and EN 55014-1 for emissions, EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-1 and EN 55014-2 for immunity to interference, and automotive directive ECE R10-5.
